When you smile, are happy juices release in your brain? Or do you smile BECAUSE happy juices are released in your brain?
If you guessed the first one, you're partially right.
If you guessed the second one, you're also partially right.
The answer is actually both!
Why is this so important? Because sometimes, when you're going through life, you catch yourself going through the motions.
Why do we do this? You might not be aware that you’re not in the right mood. Maybe you woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Maybe someone caught you off in traffic. Maybe someone pranked you when you got to your workplace.
Whatever it is, you're not feeling the joy that day.
The great thing is that you can change your emotional state by simply smiling! When you smile, your brain releases the happy juices, which cause a positive feedback loop of happiness and joy.
You can use this as a trigger for a way for how you want to show up. When you find yourself going through the motions, look at how can you bring the emotions.
This is a huge tool for you. Smiles can change your mood.
You can even set up a trigger for yourself. Like every time you go through a doorway, smile. Or every time you see the sky, recognize the beauty of this world around us. Whatever it is, set up the trigger so that you're no longer going through the motions.
Rather you're going through a framework and utilizing a tool so you can change how you're showing up in the world.
