Have you ever been unsatisfied with your life? Have you ever felt like life bullies you around and you're helpless to deal with its blows?
Here's a quote that has helped me:
"I made my own assessment of my life, and I began to live it. That was freedom." -Fernando Flores
Why is this so important?
Because it begins to eliminate the randomness of purpose within your life.
When you find ways to assess your life, you begin to compare the current state of your life to your desired state of life.
Imagine yourself at the base of a mountain. Your goal is to get to the top of the mountain. This is an easy example to follow. You have a clear and defined objective: get to the top of the mountain.
Ask yourself the question: am I at the top of the mountain?
If you can still see the top, then you're obviously not there.
What do you need to do to get there?
Obviously, taking steps towards the top. There might be many trails to the top of the mountain. You might not know which path is the correct or quickest path to the top.
However, you know one thing for sure: if you don't start, you will never get there.
Achieving your goals is the same process. Define your goals and start taking the steps to get there.
This is what we call in the High Performance world, living from and into our best selves.
Once you define it, you can more easily move towards it.
