It doesn’t matter what you want. Whether it’s advancing your career. Or improving your relationships. Or hitting for the stands and getting out to win your dreams.

I’m not the biggest sports fan, but they make great metaphors!
Take basketball. A player runs up and down the court. Back and forth. Making plays. Blocking shots. Using energy.
At some point, the player takes a break, sitting on the bench. That’s a perfect time for rest and also reflection. To review the game. What did you do well? What can you differently? What are your goals once you get back in the game?
Because that’s the important thing: no basketball player wants to be a benchwarmer.
There is a game we’re all playing right now. It’s called life.
So whether you were on call or not, you’re going to use the 5 Rs of Assessment to get up and get back in the game!
Life has a way of rocking us on our heels. Or even knocking us down.
Maybe it made you more timid. Maybe you’re hesitant to submit that next job application. Or you’re anxious about going on another date with someone new after you’ve been scorned. Or staying on your health commitment feels overwhelming.
The 5 Rs of Assessment helps you get recentered. It gives you perspective. But too many people will get caught in a spiral of introspection. Any of us can think about a problem forever.
Thinking about problems doesn’t always make them go away. Tackling them does. Trying something different does. Getting back in the game does.
